Why should I buy my blinds from eDirectBlinds.com™ and not another e-retailer or local retailer?
Price, quite simply. We strive to keep the lowest possible prices on our blinds. Let’s face it, most anywhere you get your blinds, they are going to have a very similar level of quality. You’d be hard pressed to separate an expensive brand name blind from ours. But we have a much smaller markup which the competition won’t meet. Beyond that, we for customer satisfaction.

Why don’t you sell your blinds at 85%-90% off?
We know our customers aren’t dumb. Any sites (or retailers) that claim to discount their products by a huge percentage are using bogus marked up amounts to trick the customer into thinking they are getting a good deal. Don’t be fooled, no one is going to pay $800 for a blind thats only worth $80.

How do your blinds compare to the big brand names like Levolor, HunterDouglas, Comfortex, and Kirsch?
Like the brand names, eDirectBlinds.com™ uses only the finest materials in our blinds. We only use components that are of the highest quality and have proven themselves as reliable. We are so confident in our product that we offer a limited lifetime guarantee on every blind we sell, unlike the name brands, which have dramatically shorter warrantees.

How long does it take to make my new blinds and have them delivered?
Our blinds are manufactured in 5-7 business days, depending on factory workload and material availability. Shipping time varies on the distance from your location to the factory. Typically, shipping will take 3-5 business days. All Shipments are sent via UPS except for blinds 88" or wider (sent by common carrier) or to residents of the Greater Houston, Texas Area.

Will I be charged Sales Tax?
You will be charged NO sales tax if your shipping address is outside the state of Texas. Texas residents will be charged a 7 ¼% Sales Tax.

Is my transaction Secure?
Absolutely, eDirectBlinds.com™ wants you to feel confident your information is being handled in a safe manner. We use SureSSL™ Certificates that use up to 128bit encryption (the highest your particular browser will support). We will NEVER keep your Credit Card Information. Once your transaction has been completed, your card number is purged from our system. We will keep all the pertinent data about your transaction indefinitely (what you ordered, where it is being sent…)

It's our promise that we will never sell, share, trade, or divulge ANY of your information with any other company. Additionally, we won’t use your information for advertising and/or marketing blitz in the future. You will only receive correspondence from us for this particular transaction.

How much do you charge for shipping?
The cost of shipping is included in the price for our merchandise when shipped in the contiguous 48 States. To order outside the Continental United States, please call, e-mail or FAX for specific shipping prices. Due to U.P.S. restrictions of package size and weight, blinds that are 88" or greater will be shipped by common carrier. Shipping by common carrier will be $85 per box shipped. A box can hold two 88" or greater blinds each.

Are the color samples on your site accurate? Can I get samples sent to me?
We have taken great care and effort to provide an accurate color representation in our products pages. That said, depending on your monitor and computer video settings can have a dramatic implication on these colors. It’s our recommendation that unless you are absolutely sure of the color you want, you should request a color sample pack for those colors you are interested in. Sample Packs with up to eighteen colors or less are FREE.

What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Personal/Business Checks, and Money Orders. We can also process your check electronically, which will dramatically speed up the delivery of your order.

Once my payment is accepted, how long before my order is processed?
Once we have received confirmation of your payment, we will immediately submit your order and begin the manufacturing process. Since your blinds will be custom made to your exact specifications, it is imperative you supply complete and accurate measurements during the order procedure.

Opps, I mis-measured and ordered a blind that doesn’t fit. Am I out of luck?
No. We will remake and deliver you a corrected blind. We will only charge you our cost. Please read and use our measurement instructions. Following these simple guidelines will ensure a smooth and hassle free installation.

Are blinds hard to install?
No, any person who is reasonably handy can install a whole house full of blinds. If you follow our detailed installation guide, you should be hanging blinds in no time whatsoever. In the event you don’t feel confident in hanging blinds, you should be able to hire a carpenter or installer and still come out way ahead.

Can I cancel or make changes to my order once it’s been placed?
Yes, but only if you notify us within 24 hours of placing your order. Once your payment has been confirmed, your order is submitted at the factory. If you must make changes or cancel, please contact us immediately (If after our regular business hours, please send an E-mail to customerservice@eDirectBlinds.com). We will make every effort to make the changes you desire, even if it is after 24 hours, even a canceled order request.

Will I receive a confirmation of my order?
Once your order has been placed with us, you will receive an E-mail order confirmation that will detail out your entire order. Please take the time to review your order. Any mistakes caught early will make corrections easy and painless for both you and us. Please verify your E-mail address when submitting your order; this will be our primary method of communication.

Blind Specific Questions

What’s the difference between an inside and outside mount?
Inside or outside mount refers to the way your blind is hung in relation to the window opening. An inside mounted blind (considered the preferable method of hanging blinds) fits inside the recessed portion of the window opening. The front of the blind's valance is usually flush with the surrounding walls. An outside mounted blind is usually attached to the wall above the window and is 3-5 inches wider than the window itself. Inside mounted blinds give a clean professional looking installation, where as outside mounted blinds are used to cover windows with extremely shallow windows sills or windows that are unattractive and/or noticeably out of square.

What is routeless?
Routeless blinds are often called ‘privacy blinds’ since they provide an entirely solid slat. Standard blinds have a small slit cut in them for the ladders. Routeless blinds are notched on the back edge and the ladders are placed there instead. This makes it possible for a darker, more private covering. Cloth Tapes are often used with Standard blinds to give the privacy feature, but they still let more light pass than do the Routeless. NOTE: Motorized blinds are not available with the Routeless option.

When is it appropriate to mount multiple blinds to a single headrail?
On especially wide blinds, it is advisable to mount two or three blinds on a single headrail. Failing to do so would make operating the blind extremely difficult. It will also put an undo amount of stress on the lifting and tilting mechanisms, making the possibility of failure more likely.
